BioLionel Phillip Luthor was orphaned at the age of eighteen by a fire in the tenament building that took the lives of both his mother and his father. Between the money earned from odd jobs done around town and the insurance money from the fire's fallout, Mr. Luthor was able to obtain not only a four-year degree, but double doctorates from both Princeton and Yale, in bioengineering and macroeconomics.
With those degrees in hand, Mr. Luthor started a small business of his own, which has grown into the multinational conglomerate, LuthorCorp. The headquarters are located in Metropolis, in the exquisite LuthorCorp Tower, the center of LuthorCorp Plaza and one of the dominant features of the Metropolis skyline, side by side with the Daily Planet.
Today, Mr. Luthor helms LuthorCorp with a firm hand, and hopes to guide it well into a prosperous future with the help of his son, Lex Luthor, heir to the Luthor fortune.
